Federal aviation authorities have launched an investigation following a fatal small plane crash in a Minneapolis suburb that claimed the lives of North Dakota State Representative Liz Conmy and the aircraft’s pilot.

The accident occurred on the morning of April 25, 2026, involving a Beech F33A aircraft. According to the National Transportation Safety Board, the plane went down shortly after departing from Crystal Airport in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

Details of the Incident and Victims

North Dakota’s Democratic-NPL Party confirmed the passing of the 67-year-old Fargo resident, who was a mother of four and a dedicated public servant. While federal officials are still finalizing their reports, family members have identified the pilot as Dr. Joseph Cass.

In honor of her service, Governor Kelly Armstrong directed that flags be flown at half-staff. Conmy represented District 11 and was widely recognized for her legislative work focusing on:
