Sacramento Man Identified Following Fatal Incident at Rock Creek Bridge
Authorities in Northern California have released the identity of the victim involved in a tragic water rescue operation over the weekend. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Division confirmed that Robert Willie-Solomon III, 26, of Sacramento, passed away on Saturday morning.
Incident Details
The emergency began when crews from the Mosquito Fire Protection District Station 75 were dispatched to the Rock Creek Bridge swimming area following reports of a swimmer in significant distress.
Despite the arrival of multiple agencies and immediate life-saving attempts by responders, Robert Willie-Solomon III was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials also noted that a 5-year-old German shepherd belonging to the victim was present during the incident and remains missing.
Hazardous Conditions at Rock Creek Bridge
The Rock Creek Bridge recreation site is known to harbor treacherous water conditions. Authorities have previously issued warnings regarding a low-head dam located in the area, which is capable of generating a powerful and dangerous recirculating current. These specific conditions have been cited by officials as a factor in previous fatalities at the location.
