Fatal Head-On Collision on Highway 20 Results in Manslaughter Arrest
Sweet Home, OR – A 30-year-old driver is facing criminal charges following a deadly two-vehicle crash in Linn County on Saturday evening. The Oregon State Police (OSP) responded to the scene at approximately 6 p.m. after reports of a head-on collision near Sweet Home.
Incident Details
According to the preliminary investigation, a Jeep Wrangler was traveling westbound on Highway 20 when it crossed the center line into the eastbound lane near milepost 21. The Jeep struck a Kia Forte head-on. Authorities noted that the Jeep had been reportedly driving recklessly prior to the impact.
The driver of the Kia was ejected from her vehicle upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
