Two individuals have been identified following a fatal single-vehicle accident in Dallas, Texas, on Monday night. The Dallas County medical examiner’s office confirmed that Jermaine James Simon, 53, and Sharnett Sharite Thomas, 60, passed away at the scene due to blunt force injuries.
Incident Details
The accident occurred around 9:00 p.m. in the 2200 block of North Jim Miller Road in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood. According to Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesperson Jason Evans, responding crews found a vehicle that had collided with a tree, leaving the occupants trapped inside.
While firefighters were able to extricate everyone from the wreckage, Simon and Thomas were pronounced dead at approximately 9:05 p.m.
Current Status of the Investigation
Dallas police reported Tuesday afternoon that two other unidentified individuals involved in the crash were transported to a local hospital. As of the last update, one remains in critical condition while the other is listed as stable.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, though preliminary findings suggest no other vehicles were involved.
