Family Mourns Loss of Unborn Child Following Suspected DUI Crash
AURORA, CO – A horrific multi-vehicle collision in Aurora, Colorado, has left a local family devastated after a suspected impaired driver struck their vehicle, claiming the life of their unborn son. The Aurora Police Department has taken the suspect into custody as the investigation continues.
The Intersection of Tragedy
The incident occurred on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the intersection of East 6th Avenue and Potomac Street. Erubey Zunon Roblero was driving through the intersection at a low speed—less than 10 mph—with his wife, Jacqueline, who was five months pregnant at the time.
The peaceful drive was shattered when a white delivery van, driven erratically, slammed into the right side of their pickup truck. The force of the impact was so severe that it forced the truck off the road and left Jacqueline trapped between her seat and the door.
A Heartbreaking Turn of Events
Immediately following the crash, there was a brief moment of hope when doctors initially reported that the unborn baby appeared to be fine. However, the family’s relief was short-lived.
“The next day is when they told me the baby no longer had vital signs,” Roblero shared, describing the profound despair of losing the child they were waiting to welcome. Jacqueline also suffered significant physical trauma, requiring surgery for numerous fractures to her leg sustained during the side-impact collision.
Justice and Awareness
The driver of the van has been identified as 34-year-old Chad Gow. Gow now faces several serious charges, including:
- Vehicular Assault
- Driving Under the Influence (DUI)
- Additional related charges
As his wife begins her long recovery, Erubey Zunon Roblero is calling for justice and urging the community to remain vigilant. He reminds fellow motorists to be acutely aware of their surroundings, especially when traveling with vulnerable passengers like children or expectant mothers.
