Fatal Collision Damages Historic Landmark in Rancho Mirage

A quiet Tuesday morning in Rancho Mirage turned tragic when a single-vehicle accident claimed the life of a young driver and left a piece of local history in ruins.

The Midnight Incident

At approximately 2:19 a.m., Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the intersection of Highway 111 and Indian Trail. Upon arrival, responders discovered a devastating scene: a vehicle had veered off the road, striking both a utility light pole and the iconic, historic sign at the Elephant Car Wash site.

The Victim

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has identified the driver as Skyler Aga, a 24-year-old resident of San Pedro. Authorities confirmed that Aga was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.


Investigation Underway

The site, known for its nostalgic landmark, remained under heavy scrutiny throughout the morning as experts moved in to piece together the final moments before the impact.
